LASCORZ’S SECOND POSITION: EL CAMPEONATO AL ROJO VIVO
On this stifling hot day, Joan Lascorz has managed to play his cards and get the best out of the ZX6R. We left Misano with 20 points scored and with less to reach Sofuoglu. There is still a lot to go for the championship, which is becoming more and more exciting.
We heartedly missed Katsuaki Fujiwara, who was operated on for appendicitis last week in Japan and was not able to take part in the race.

Joan Lascorz (Rider): “I look back to the race with a positive point of view. We had very interesting training sessions since we adapted the motorbike to the track features at all times and, truthfully speaking, it was always on the right track. For this race, the only hesitating factor was related to the tyres. We did not know for certain which component we should choose. In the end, the choice we made was not the best one because, as from the very first lap, the bike was too slippery. I felt I was able to do it, but the lack of grip made us terribly lose out. Finally, I couldn’t keep up with Laverty but tried to stay away from Sofuoglu and it eventually worked out. We knew Misano would be a hard race and we achieved great results. Let’s see how it goes in BRNO. I guess it will be fine. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team for all their work and, above all, Kawasaki and Motocard”.
Katsuaki Fujiwara (Rider): (Not present in this race due to an emergency operation for acute appendicitis. He is in Japan recovering from the operation performed last week).
Guim Roda (Sports Director): “Joan’s race was a very good one. Despite the lack of grip, he managed to play his role. Although he was not very comfortable from the beginning, he was able to keep his initial strength. At mid-race, he tried to avoid making mistakes and perfectly achieved it. He stood firm against Sofuoglu’s attacks in a masterly way and did not give up at braking. It is very hard to stay away from an opponent coming almost one second faster. Simply perfect. An accurate job which will surely be definitive to face the championship. Now we are parting to BRNO, a circuit where we got great results last year. We are looking forward to it”.
